Advanced Biologics Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary
 

Advanced Biologics opened its doors in February 1995 and has spent the past ten years establishing itself as an expert full-service provider of clinical trial research. Michael Corrado, M.D., President/CEO, and Howard Solomon, Ph.D., Executive Vice President/COO, founded the contract research organization to provide high-quality, scientific contract research services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Over the last twenty-five years, Dr. Michael Corrado has established himself as an infectious disease expert in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Corrado co-founded Advanced Biologics after spending five years on the faculty of The State University of New York School of Medicine, where he was chief of the department of Infectious Diseases; eight years with Merck as Director of Anti-Infective Research; and eight years with Johnson & Johnson where he was Vice President of Regulatory and Clinical Research. In his positions, Dr. Corrado has developed numerous infectious disease products including some antibacterial drugs currently enjoying widespread use in the United States and abroad. Dr. Howard Solomon also has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He spent eight years on the faculty at Loyola College in Baltimore, before moving on to Merck where he held the position of radiation-safety officer, and Johnson & Johnson where he was intimately involved in establishing a research/imaging department. In this position, Dr. Solomon additionally spent five years as Assistant Director of Research Imaging at the R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute where he was involved in developing new methods of diagnosing disease states using imaging techniques & developing medical products, before co-founding Advanced Biologics.

Advanced Biologics’ first office was established in Lambertville, NJ, and in January of 2004 the company moved to its current location across the Delaware River in New Hope, PA. Advanced Biologics began with three employees and today has 150 employees. Advanced Biologics’ employees are a dedicated and highly professional group of individuals representing many of the finest men and women currently involved in medical research. The company initially focused on infectious disease research, and over the years has also gained expertise in CNS, including research in pain relief, psychiatric disorders and neurological conditions, and women’s health/urology. Advanced Biologics is also lending its expertise in the research and development of methods to prevent or treat diseases of bioterrorism as well as diseases that plague the Third World. Today Advanced Biologics has experience in over 75 medical conditions in its areas of expertise.

Advanced Biologics will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with its employees in May, and will continue to promote awareness in the community throughout the year.
